general questions
-
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy focused on improving specific behaviors, such as communication, social skills, academics, and self-care, while reducing behaviors that may interfere with learning. It is widely recognized as the most effective therapy for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
-
While ABA is most commonly used for individuals with autism, it can benefit anyone with developmental, behavioral, or learning challenges. HOWEVER, we are restrained by insurance company regulations, which require an autism diagnosis to treat for ABA therapy.
-
Each child receives a personalized treatment plan based on comprehensive assessments of their skills and needs. Goals are tailored to your child’s unique strengths, challenges, and family priorities.
getting started
-
Start by contacting us via the inquriy form on our website to schedule a tour appointment. During this tour, we’ll discuss your child’s needs and what we do at Lighthouse Therapy Center!
Next, if you decide you'd like to move forward with Lighthouse, you will proceed with sending us proper documentation (insurance cards, diagnostic report, intake paperwork) and officially join our waitlist.
Lastly, after moving off of our waitlist, we will schedule your child's 2 hour assessment to begin the onboarding process. From this assessment, wait time is usually around 4 weeks.

We work with children and adolescents, typically from ages 2 through 20+, though we may accept younger or older individuals depending on need and availability.
-
This is highly dependent upon your child's age and needs.

Coverage varies by plan. Some plans cover ABA fully, while others may have deductibles, co-pays, or limits. Our team will explain your specific benefits during the intake process.

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a highly trained professional with a master’s degree (or higher) in behavior analysis or a related field. They are certified to assess, develop, and oversee individualized ABA treatment plans. Your BCBA will supervise your child’s therapy team (RBTs) and collaborate closely with your family.
